Huckleberries! Have you heard about these little babies? A lot like blueberries to be honest, but we had fun picking them. Sunday was GORGEOUS so we drove up Mt. Spokane and started looking for the elusive huck. Unfortunately none of us knew what said plant or berry really looked like! Fortunately a lovely couple on bikes helped us by giving directions. It was a bit of a walk for the little guys, but it was very pretty.

Many berries were eaten as we picked.
See.
Mac sat on a few.

After much picking we only got about a gallon between all of us - no wonder they are expensive to just buy! But I think they taste better when you get to pick them. I think I'm going to use ours for a cheesecake...

Ohhhh....huckleberry's ARE MY FAVORITE! that's interesting that they take so long to get just a few berries though. Good job continuing the obsession haha!
are you sure you were eating huckleberry? lol That great that you had a great adventure.
i didn't know that they were so NW native and not everybody knew about them! in MT we ate huckleberry bbq sauce, syrup, ice cream topping, and of course jelly all year long. But yes, very expensive.
Looks like a fun trip. I love fresh fruit right off the tree or bush or whatever it grows on.
Looks like fun! We got in on the berry-picking action last week at Green Bluffs where we found a cute farm with raspberries for $1 a pound. We also picked peaches--so fun!
The picture with him holding the yellow pail is so cute.
But who is the little girl wearing the red jacket?
LOL! That's Noah, Mac and Lindsey's little boy.
How did you find those... Lucky! Huckleberries are amazing. Yummy. Gymnastic Classes are at the YMCA, you can check it out online.
